Country star Jelly Roll's wife Bunnie XO shares 'scary' health update (2024)

Jelly Roll's wife, Bunnie XO, shared her 'scary' health update to fans on Sunday and revealed she has developed a new 'perspective' after nearly being diagnosed with an aneurysm.

The media personality, 44 - who recently revealed she is undergoing IVF with the Need A Favor singer, 39 - got candid about her recent health scare in a Facebook post after undergoing an MRI/MRA scan last week on Tuesday.

Initially, her results showed that she had a 'two-millimeter aneurysm on my carotid artery' - but after following up with a neurosurgeon only days later, the doctor informed her that it was likely instead 'an artifact.'

'I tell you what, this health scare put so much in perspective for me,' Bunnie typed out to her followers. 'It honestly made me want to change a lot of things in my life.'

She continued, 'Be more appreciative of my family & friends. It also made me reevaluate my relationship w/ God & learn to have faith for the first time in my life.'

The star added, 'Even my husband texting me last night saying "You're my bestfriend." Brought me to tears.'

'You don't realize how much you appreciate life & the ppl in it until you feel like you could lose it & them at any moment. Love your loved ones a little more today for me, would you? I love you guys- Happy Sunday,' Bunnie concluded.

Last week on Tuesday, she previously jumped to her Facebook page to share that she was 'up early' to get an MRI/MRA done.

'Pretty sure this year is all about me conquering fears,' she also added while asking for advice on 'getting thru one.'

In a since-deleted video that was uploaded to her TikTok page afterwards, Bunnie revealed that she had nearly been diagnosed with an aneurysm. Her mother notably also had an aneurysm rupture in the past - but survived.

'In March,I started getting really bad headaches, really weird headaches that I've never gotten before,' she explained in the clip, per Us Weekly.

'I was scheduled to have an MRI done this week [and] when I got the test results back they said they spotted an aneurysm on my carotid artery.'

After then having a CT scan, the star expressed to her followers that a 'two-millimeter aneurysm on my carotid artery' had been spotted.

She candidly admitted to her fans that the results had felt 'like a death sentence' to her, and caused Bunnie to 'come to grips with [her] own mortality.'

However, when the wife of Jelly Roll followed up with a neurosurgeon after getting the results, she was told that she most likely did not have an aneurysm, and it instead was 'an artifact.'

'He toldme that I'm cleared, that he thinks that's an artifact and that he also thinks in six months [or] whenever I come back to retest and do another CT test, he will be able to prove that it is an artifact.'

'His words were, "I don't even know why the radiologist even sent you in for this,"' she explained, and positively added, 'As for now, your girl can breathe!'

Also on Sunday, she further reflected on her health scare by uploading a short reel to her TikTok account.

While sharing a video of her boxing inside a gym, Bunnie also added the text, 'I was devastated this week w/ the news I received.'

She expressed that, 'I laid in bed for 3 days & cried my eyes out. I started praying & learning how to have faith.'

'But on the 4th day I got back up & started fighting back. I refused to believe the diagnosis that was given to me.'

The star added to her fans, 'Got great news on Friday & will get great news again on Tuesday.'

She then sent an encouraging message and typed, 'It doesn't matter how dark things feel, There is always a light shining around the corner. Don't let the darkness consume you because then you're letting it win.'

'Give it to God & let go. He'll do the worrying for you. When life puts you on your knees, you're in the perfect position to pray.'

Her heath update comes just one month after Bunnie revealed she is undergoing IVF with husband, Jelly Roll.

'The singer's wife announced their plans to have a child together via IVF as she shared a clip from Jelly Roll's appearance on the Bussin' With The Boys podcast,where he opened up about their family plans.

'We had planned on doing this privately, but decided our ivf journey needed to be shared because we've always been so open. And w/ all odds stacked against us, it's already been hard & we have only just begun,' Bunnie posted to her Instagram.

'J & I are SO excited & scared all at the same time. We genuinely never thought we'd want to add to our family but something changed this year & we both just want a piece of us together to add to our already perfect family w/ Bailee & Noah,' she added.

The video of Jelly's podcast appearance was captioned 'God Willing- Baby DeFord 2026.'

Jelly - real name Jason Bradley DeFord - already has two children from previous relationships: daughter Bailee Ann, 16, and son Noah Buddy, seven.

The musician and his wife tied the knot in 2016 but do not have any children of their own together.

On the podcast, Jelly opened up about losing weight for the sake of his future child.

'My wife and I are talking about having a baby, and it really made me realize that at almost 40, I was like, it means I got to live to at least 60. I got to see this kid into college,' the country singer said.

'I thought that every problem I ever had in life would be solved if I ever found any kind of success and stability,' he added.

'And then I started to get success and stability and still none of those problems are solved. My plan was never to be 60. It was to be, like, 55. But now I'm like, "Well, I'd like to see my 60s." You know what I mean? And that really lit it up.'

The musician has lost around 70 pounds as he prepared for a recent 5K. Jelly Roll had previously told People that the 'ultimate goal for the 5K' was health and weight loss.
