- April 2005 : The radio is now fully autonomous...
- March 2005 : Broadband disponibility of the server x8
- June 2004 : Connecting to the SpiderRadio project (script of active and random downloading of free music on the web).
- July 2003 : First user's upload of mp3 file.
- January 2003 : The radio is broadcasting a test signal on the net 24h/24 7 days/7 since January 1st.
- December 2002 : Server setup (Perl / Apache / Icecast / Ices / Lame / Sox / GNU Linux), and first streaming test.
- The project : Free music and free software. There's a life beside Vivendi-Universal and Microsoft. Cyber punx debout !

Q: How to listen to an icecast stream ? :
A: You just need to have a mp3 player that supports streaming mp3. With Windows you can use Zinf or Winamp. Under Unix/Linux you can choose between XMMS, Zinf, ... Mac users can also be connected using iTune. To download such a player, if necessary, you can follow the links...

The scripts managing the radio are written in Perl. Because Perl is free and beautiful. (p) pascal blain
Q: What is a net-auto-radio ? :
A: The smoky concept [©panx] of an intelligent robot radio that nobody controls the playlists. The audio material is directly retrieved from the internet by the radio itself [SpiderRadio], or uploaded by the users / listeners. The shedule management and the administrative tasks (controling, encoding, formating and broadcasting) are completely automatic.
